Academic Programmes

Faculty Management Team

Ming Wen joined the University of Hong Kong in the Fall of 2022 as the Dean of Social Sciences. She started her academic career at the University of Utah in 2003, where she rose through the academic ranks to full professorship in 2013 and chaired the Department of Sociology from 2015 to 2021. An internationally recognised population scholar, Professor Wen's research focuses on the social determinants of health, spatial and family contexts of well-being, migration, and child development. Her widely published work has received major funding from the US National Institutes of Health and Hong Kong's Research Grants Council, earning her a place among Stanford University's World’s Top 2% Scientists.
